Wayne Johnson Takes ASCS Midwest Honors at I-90

Lonnie Wheatley, HARTFORD, S.D. (July 9, 2011) – Wayne Johnson picked off his second Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest feature win of the year by wiring the field in Saturday night’s 25-lap feature event at I-90 Speedway.

Taking off from the front row outside, Johnson fought off some challenges for the point from Jason Johnson to take the win aboard Bryan Sundby’s Parker-powered No. 38 Maxim.

Johnson ultimately took the checkered flag ahead of Brady Bacon, who slipped around Jason Johnson for second on the 18th circuit and then diced for the runner-up slot with the reigning Lucas Oil ASCS National champion over the final circuit.

Jason Johnson settled for the show position behind W. Johnson and Bacon, with Jack Dover and fellow eighth-row starter Shane Stewart both using the topside of the track to charge to fourth and fifth, respectively.

Tony Bruce, Jr., was sixth, with Gregg Bakker, Billy Alley, John Lambertz and Lee Grosz completing the top ten.

Bruce, Jr., Isaac Schreurs, Bakker and Bacon topped heat race action before Dover and Stewart won the “B” Mains.
